Thank you for taking the time to learn about us as you consider making an adoption plan for your child. We are Shannon and Carlos: a married couple who love each other more deeply now than seven years ago when we said I do. Coming from different cultures, Latin America and Central Ohio, we have blended into our unique family culture of love, adventure, hospitality and faith. We are excited to blend again by growing our family through adoption.
We both love God and enjoy hiking, exploring, and traveling as a way to learn more about the world we’re in. We can’t wait to share these experiences with a child! We are both bilingual and plan to introduce Spanish and English naturally and intentionally so that before this child even knows it, he or she will also be able to communicate with 25% of the world’s population (and their extended families)!
Carlos is a software engineer with a natural curiosity and a true gift for problem-solving. Shannon is a devoted teacher who finds so much joy in helping children grow and discover the world around them.
We share a special connection to animals. Shannon trains horses and is deeply passionate about the bond they create with people. We are excited to share that part of our lives with a child—offering them the unique opportunity to build confidence, compassion, and connection through time spent with horses. At home, our cat is very much part of the family and enjoys plenty of attention. She’s also wonderfully patient and affectionate with the little ones in our lives, soaking up pets and attention whenever friends’ babies come to visit.
Our greatest desire is to treasure the adventure of life with a child. We are committed to nurturing a sense of resilience, patience, and kindness, guiding them with love and encouragement as they become the person they are meant to be.
